Abstract :
This paper reports a novel cost-effective multiwavelength optical source for OCDM. This source has a simple configuration and emits well-flattened light with a precisely controlled wavelength spacing by using a directly sinusoidally modulated laser diode technique. The flattened multiwavelength light generation is analytically evaluated by using a small signal approximation. The application of the proposed optical source to OCDM was demonstrated experimentally.
