Abstract :
The authors describe a newly developed advanced 8-bit single-chip microcomputer applicable for system and servo controls for various VCRs that consist of multifunctional hardware by means of 1.2-μm CMOS technology. They describe the architecture of the microcomputer, the fundamental algorithm, and the advanced technology for servo control software. The application of the system is also discussed
