Abstract :
A method for simultaneous transmission in both directions of a single fiber is demonstrated utilizing a single source. A high optical isolation of the two counterpropagating signals is obtained by combining coherence modulation in one direction with intensity modulation in the other direction. This allows full duplex transmissions with a single source of signals with identical modulation speed in the two directions
