Abstract :
Results on the preparation and magnetic properties of coevaporated Fe60Al40 thin films onto a kapton substrate are discussed. First the structural state is found to be crystalline (BCC structure) and chemically disordered. Then the magnetic properties are evaluated, with the Mossbauer effect giving the values of both hyperfine field and ferromagnetic fraction; the magnetization is also determined using a vibration sample magnetometer. Finally the thermal behavior of the films is investigated, showing two structural transformations in the 293-693 K range.
