Abstract :
The authors discuss conditions for teletext signal recording and system applications for S-VHS VCRs. Recording teletext was previously considered beyond the ability of a home VCR. However, studies have shown that the S-VHS VCR is capable of functioning with this system. By taking advantage of the inherent wideband luminance channel, adjusting for flat frequency response, and inhibiting the comb filter during the teletext period, acceptable recording and performance were obtained. The teletext decoder must also compensate for jitter and discontinuity at the head switching points
