Abstract :
In order to increase the optical output power of semiconductor superluminescent device, a direct coupling method had been used to integrate, monolithically, the superluminescent diode with a semiconductor optical amplifier. By this means, two kinds of integrated superluminescent light source have been fabricated. High output power was obtained in pulsed operation.
