Abstract :
Room temperature continuous-wave upconversion laser oscillation at 635 nm is reported for a Yb3+sensitised Pr3+-doped fluorozirconate fibre cavity pumped by a single semiconductor laser operating at a wavelength near 860 nm. Using a similar setup, upconversion lasing at a wavelength of 602 nm has also been obtained
