Abstract :
Faced with what it saw as an oversupply of UK Chartered Engineers a decade ago, the Engineering Council decided to limit degree course accreditation for CEng to courses with tough A-level requirements. Five years on from the introduction of new ´Standards and Routes to Registration´, the author explains how the move has left the profession ´in a mess´.
