Abstract
Using a previously published solution to the wave equation in a curved fibre, a computer model has been developed which yields a correction to the chromatic dispersion of fibres undergoing bending. Experimental investigations have also been carried to confirm the validity of the model. The model has also been used to predict dispersion corrections for wound erbium-amplifier type fibres
