Abstract :
The recipient of the 2014 IEEE Information Theory Society Paper Award is Marco Dalai, for the paper "Lower Bounds on the Probability of Error for Classical and Classical-Quantum Channels," which appeared in the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON INFORMATION THEORY, vol. 59, no. 12, pp. 8027-8056, December 2013. The IEEE Information Theory Society Paper Award, consisting of a plaque and an honorarium, is given annually for an outstanding publication in the fields of interest to the Society and appearing anywhere during the preceding two calendar years. Its purpose is to recognize exceptional publications and to stimulate interest in, and encourage contributions to, fields of interest of the Society. A biography of the author is provided.
