Abstract :
An optimal statistical parameter estimation technique was previously presented by the authors (ibid., vol.ASSP-34, p.963-72) for the identification of a class of unknown linear systems that can be modeled by a zero-phase finite impulse response filter. This technique is now extended to a more general case using a spectrally equivalent minimum-phase (SEMP) representation of the system. The original zero-phase system parameters are computed from the SEMP model parameters
