            Abstract :
I have known Prof. Gabor Temes for over twenty-seven years. I met him first at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in Lausanne in 1985, while he was on sabbatical leave and I was a PhD student. My former PhD mentor and director of the Electronics Labs, Prof. Roger Dessoulavy, assigned me to be Professor?s Temes? first contact for any help he required. As a young student I was very nervous to have such a large responsibility in talking and dealing with a famous professor coming from a well-known US University, UCLA. My preliminary fear was completely unjustified and quickly disappeared after just a few meetings. Professor Temes? kindness and his extremely generous approach towards students enabled me to be myself right from the beginning of our encounter. Today I can say without any doubt that meeting Professor Temes at that time was decisive for my future professional life.
