Abstract :
The most important experimental results concerning stress-induced phenomena in zero-magnetostrictive metallic glasses are considered. Two theoretical models are analysed in detail: the pair-ordering model and the random anisotropy model. The appearance of stress-induced effects has been attributed to reorientation of mobile atoms in the region of reduced mass density and has been described in terms of the two-level systems model.
