Abstract :
The requirements and possibilities of a receiver for radio-telephone broadcast signals and the importance of considering the antenna in the design of this receiver are discussed. It is brought out that the increase of signal strength which is obtainable by regeneration is limited to a definite value, which is determined by the strength of the incoming field, and it is shown by curves that this maximum signal strength is independent of antenna height. Some of the possibilities in the direction of eliminating interference by various circuit arrangements are discussed.
