Abstract
A one-dimensional model for a nonuniform magnetization process is investigated to show how a small change from Stoner-Wohlfarth uniform rotation results in qualitatively different behavior in particles that are smaller than the conventional domain wall thickness. The main effects are initiated when the axes for the surface anisotropy and the bulk anisotropy are not collinear
