Abstract
A refinement on the system state-space model formulation of transverse flux homopolar linear machine prototypes such that the saliency effects of these systems can be properly accounted for is presented. Due to the periodic relative position-dependent characteristics of the machine primary and secondary sides, by introducing an appropriate weighting concept onto the convolution technique an integrated and compact set of matrix representations regarding the system state-space equations can be derived. Numerical verifications are supported by experimental results to illustrate the adequacy of the proposed technique
