Abstract
The general arrangements of the broadcast transmitting stations established by the Radio Corporation of America in New York and Washngton, D.C. (U.S.A.), are described. The station and portable apparatus, with wiring diagrams and frequency characteristics, are shown. Each station has an associated local wire line network, for broadcasting from points outside the studio, and long distance lines inter-connect the studios at New York, Washington, and Schenectady, N.Y., for simultaneous broadcasting. Equipment for this purpose is described. Various points in connection with practical operation in studio or outside broadcasting, such as supervision, microphone placing, and modulation control are dealt with. Experiences in two-channel transmission, at New York, are discussed.
