Abstract :
Based on YBa2Cu3O7 Josephson junction mounted on a pulse tube cryocooler, a compact superconducting harmonic mixer is used to phase-lock a microwave source at 3 mm waveband to a reference of high precision at much lower frequency, thus greatly improving the performances of the former. Currently the highest harmonic number at which phase locking can be realized is 60. The experimental system, main results, and the problem of how to increase the harmonic number are discussed in details.
