Abstract :
Computations of the structure and energy of two-dimensional domain walls are reported for the case of homogeneous and uniform wall motion, both for Permalloy and for Fe films. The assumption of a constant wall velocity turns out to be applicable only to rather low velocities, and breaks down at higher velocities, presumably because new vortices are created at such velocities and the motion becomes turbulent. For these smaller velocities, the computations are extended to much larger film thicknesses
