Abstract :
A novel combined device is presented in this paper. It connects with two independent power systems by two groups transformers, which are in series with the systems. Dynamic voltage regulation is the fundamental function of the combined device. It can also limit the fault currents of both systems. The topology and control algorithms are given in the paper. Simulation results by PSCAD and experimental results based on DSP are presented in this paper. It is verified that the device can choose and perform the functions correctly and effectively according to the voltages and currents of the two power systems.
