Abstract :
We present an amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) source based on a single-mode ytterbium-doped fiber pumped by a Nd : YVO4 laser emitting at 914 nm. The ASE is centered on 977 nm with a bandwidth of 3 nm. With a spectrally filtered reflection of the copropagating ASE, we have obtained a source of ASE with a bandwidth of 0.4 nm and a tunability of 7 nm. This source delivers an output power of 340 for 700 mW of pump power, with a slope efficiency of 50%.
