Abstract :
Mike Fister, president and CEO of electronic design automation (EDA) company Cadence Design Systems, was in bullish mood when he told investors that he had launched a bid for third-placed supplier Mentor Graphics. Fister´s aim was to create an EDA powerhouse that could dominate the market and regain ground lost to Synopsys in recent years.
