Abstract :
Strain measurements were conducted on polymer bonded samples of MnAs and MnAs0.92Sb0.08. A substantial increase in the strain measured at 850 kA/m was exhibited upon substitution of antimony for arsenic. Anisotropy within the polymer bonded compact was induced using an aligning field of 800 kA/m. Values of 230 ppm and 110 ppm were obtained for the two perpendicular orientations at 850 kA/m
