Abstract :
An expression is derived for the calculation of the rotational power loss in electrical steel laminations, i.e., the iron loss associated with the torque caused by the angle of lag between H&oarr; and B&oarr;. It is shown that for a nonpurely rotating flux density, i.e., noncircular flux density loci, the instantaneous angular velocity of the flux density vector can vary substantially during a cycle, and must be accounted for in the calculation
