Abstract :
The superconducting energy gap of a Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+x monocrystal has been determined, both parallel and perpendicular to the a-b plane, from the viscous part of the AC-susceptibility (χ") obtaining values for 2Δ||/kBTc ≈4.8-5.2 and 2Δ2t/kBT c 2.7-3.4. These results are found to be in good agreement with point contact measurements carried out on the same sample and with those published in the literature. These results would appear to support theories proposing two gap superconductivity in these materials
