Abstract :
The net displacements of Neel lines belonging to unwinding or winding line pairs, resulting from the application of pulsed direct or gyrotropic forces, is investigated. It is found that pairs, whether winding or unwinding, shrink faster than they expand under the action of direct forces; under the action of gyrotropic forces, winding pairs exhibit a peculiar behavior; and a static field parallel to the easy axis has a considerable influence on line displacements, especially under the action of gyrotropic forces. Samples utilized in the present study are thick (TbY)3(FeAl)5O12 garnet epilayers grown on
