Abstract :
A numerical method is proposed to analyse the electromagnetic behavior of systems including high-temperature superconductors (HTSC) in time-varying external fields. The E-J constitutive law together with an H-formulation is used to calculate the current distribution then the magnetisation hysteresis loop of the superconductor can be obtained. This numerical method is adapted to commercial finite element software to solve the partial differential equations time dependently and is able to give accurate results to many problems in complex geometries.
