  • Abstract
A theoretical model of the dynamic surface myoelectric signal (SMES) suitable for periodic exercise is discussed. It is shown that the spectral content of the SMES in the very low-frequency band can be related to burst patterns of the SMES. Burst patterns are compared during cycling exercises at different pedalling rates. A simple spectral parameter, defined in the very low-frequency band, is related to movement efficiency.
