Abstract :
The state-of-the-art of polymer insulated cable systems in Switzerland is presented. The construction and the features of high-voltage power cables with crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE) or ethylene-propylene rubber (EPR) insulation, accessories such as joints and terminations, and some special laying techniques are discussed. Results of type tests, long duration tests, and field tests are presented
