Abstract :
A method for addressing 
display panels through arrays of photosensitive devices illuminated by scanning gas-discharge light sources is described. The feasibility of the method was demonstrated in an experiment in which a 24-character segment of a thin-film ac electroluminescent display panel was addressed.
