Any student of digital wireless communication (DWC) has certainly come across the fundamental modulations of amplitude-shift keying (ASK), frequency-shift keying (FSK), and phase-shift keying (PSK). All of these are special cases of the general electromagnetic signal equation s(t)=A(t)cos(ωc(t)+z(t)) .
