Abstract :
This paper describes the theory and practical aspects of an audio power amplifier capable of delivering 50-W continuous into a 6-10-Ω load. The design utilizes a monolithic operational amplifier and incorporates a novel output driver circuit. Design objectives include low cost, unconditional thermal stability, and the use of standard-tolerance unmatched components. The output stage efficiency analysis assumes an unregulated power supply.
