Abstract :
This paper: (1) derives the upper bound for the number of critical upper (lower) vectors to level j of a monotone increasing multi-state system; (2) discusses the symmetric relations among the components; (3) gives several theoretical conclusions; and (4) proposes a simplified form for the structure function of the multi-state systems with symmetric relations
