Abstract
A systematic functional task analysis (SFTA) for control room instrumentation of a nuclear power plant has been developed. The methodology involves a systematic review of the plant worst-accident conditions, NRC Regulatory Guide 1.97 postaccident monitoring requirements, and multiple failure conditions. Computerized database management of the analysis is expected to provide consolidated instrumentation (display/control) characteristics required by operators to mitigate plant transient/accident conditions
