Status of military research and development in acoustics and radio

n e f i e l d s of acoustics and audio engineering are finding may new military apolications within the Army, Navy and Air Force. Continued progress i s also being made tonard improving the performance or" e x i s t i n g audio systems and techniques to better meet Fncreasingly stringent operational requirements. Some recent developments and p r o p o s e d p r o j e c t s i n these fields are discussed, Problems which are as yet unsolved are mentioned. The procedure established within the Department 02 Defense f o r coordinating a l l research and development in t h e b r o a d f i e l d of acoustics-in-air i s described.
