Abstract :
A variable sensitivity photodetector for a dynamic optical neurochip is proposed. This device is a three terminal photodetector whose sensitivity is modulated by the applied gate voltage. The high speed response of the device is promising for the realisation of variable analogue synaptic interconnections in optical neurocomputer systems.
