Abstract :
Supplying the electric power for a cooling system fitted on a mobile unit using solar panels requires appropriate study and design. A single solar panel, as commonly used in the domain of construction, would not be suitable. The research presented in this paper is part of the research project related to the small satellites program being run at the French South African Institute of Technology (FSATI) in collaboration with the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) [1], [2]. The project is also related to a prospective mobile ground station to be developed at the same institute.
