Abstract :
High voltage DC (HVDC) links have controllable characteristics with potential for affecting power system stability. This paper follows the robustness methodology procedure to analyze the stability robustness of HVDC controls in power systems over a range of operating conditions. A novel method to design power system controllers using the robustness methodology is also proposed. Numerical results for a sample test-system are obtained and compared with those obtained by conventional techniques.
