Abstract :
A new multiwavelength semiconductor laser with singlemode fibre output is reported. The laser consists of a semiconductor laser array which is incorporated into an external cavity comprising a diffraction grating and a fibre loop mirror. This laser has five wavelength-locked output channels with a fixed separation of 2.5 nm. The centre wavelength may be tuned over 80 nm.
