Abstract :
An experimental study was carried out of the effect produced by charging voltage and load inductance on the characteristics of a multi-channel surface discharge switch. Impedance, active resistance and inductance were measured at the different regimes of the switch operation. A quasistationary discharge stage was detected to occur at time t = 5...18 mus at constant inductance and active resistance of the switch (capacitance C0 = 79 muF, charging voltage U0 = 20...25 kV, circuit inductance Lc = 20...100 nH).
