  • Abstract
    A novel low-loss tapered fibre connector for joining single-mode fibres to a twin-core or multicore fibre is proposed. Choice of appropriate materials in the connector effectively eliminates cross coupling between the singlemode fibres, and an appropriate choice of fibre parameters at the single core to multicore interface ensures negligible splicing loss.
