Abstract :
Analytical solutions to Poisson´s equation are used to show that the large signal step response of a single-diffused junction is significantly different from that of an aburpt or a linearly graded junction. This brief presents a technique suitable for an improved transient analysis of integrated circuits employing p-n junctions with Gaussian or erfc profiles for use in circuit simulation programs.
