Abstract :
Recognizing the importance of computation in developing man-made structures generally, and particularly in the design of flight vehicles, NASA and the University of Virginia established a Center for Computational Structures Technology in 1990. The paper discusses the objectives of the UVA-CST Centre. Diverse aspects studied include modelling, optimization and artificial intelligence
