Abstract :
A model of the electron dynamics inside a microchannel plate (MCP) in the presence of magnetic fields is presented and compared with experimental results. Image shift calculations agree with measurements to within 6% (B=0.06 T), and a model of channel open area against field is provided which closely matches gain rolloff for fields larger than 0.025 T.
