Abstract :
Most optical sensor multiplexing systems results in a decrease in signal to noise ratio for each additional sensor added to the network. A technique using a spatial light modulator (SLM) which overcomes this problem is described. The techniques has been tested in a system which addresses eight photoelastic strain sensors.
