Abstract :
We report observations of the optogalvanic effect (OGE) in molecular iodine. A discharge in pure iodine or in He-I2mixture is axially irradiated by a CW dye laser and relatively strong signals are obtained. Low resolution and medium resolution spectra are discussed. Time resolved experiments are also presented.
