Abstract :
An analysis of the influence of thermal effects on the tuning behavior of a three-electrode distributed-feedback (DFB) laser is presented. In the adopted three-dimensional model, nonuniform injected current distribution is taken into account. The electronic and thermal tuning mechanisms are compared, and results for a typical three-electrode PS-DFB laser are presented and discussed
