Abstract :
The twenty-seven articles in this special issue are peer-reviewed expanded manuscripts of papers first presented at the 22nd International Symposium om Discharge and Electrical Insulation in Vacuum (ISDEIV), held in Matsue, Japan, on September 25-29, 2006. The papers are grouped into four general categories: 1) vacuum switches, which include vacuum circuit breakers (VCBs) and vacuum interrupters (VIs); 2) vacuum switch modeling; 3) vacuum arc physics; and 4) plasma processing and applications.
