Abstract
A heterodyne detection technique is applied to integrated-optic ring resonators with a finesse as high as 110, which is difficult to measure with the conventional optical frequency sweep technique. The ring waveguide, which includes curvatures with the radius of 5 mm, has a loss of 0.04 dB/cm estimated from the finesse.
