Abstract :
A simple geometric construction is given which relates the analog and digital domain real frequencies, respectively, when the (all-pass) bilinear transformation is used to derive a digital filter from an analog prototype. The technique is useful for the visualization of the frequency compression that occurs with the bilinear transformation.
